Cloud Platform “Made in Europe” Strengthens Digital Sovereignty

Leonberg/Utrecht, October 23, 2025 – Only recently, Erik Sterck GmbH and the TTNL Group announced their merger. One of the key goals of this partnership was to create a joint data center offering “Made in Europe.” That vision has now become a reality: a fully Germany- and Netherlands-hosted cloud platform is now available, enabling European companies to gain greater independence, security, and control over their data.

“We’ve reached the first major milestone, and we’re proud to present a European cloud platform that meets the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance,” says Tobias Engmann, Technical Director at Erik Sterck GmbH. “From the very beginning, our motivation has been to offer companies a true alternative to global hyperscalers — a solution that ensures full data sovereignty and strengthens trust in Europe’s digital future.”

TTNL Data Platform

With its fourth European data center zone, the group is focusing on a cloud and managed services infrastructure specifically designed for data storage and computing power. It supports both traditional IBM environments as well as non-IBM systems and modern hybrid IT landscapes. “Our customers benefit from powerful, secure, and at the same time flexible solutions that can be precisely tailored to their individual IT requirements,” says Engmann.

The TTNL Group draws on nearly a decade of experience with cloud offerings in the Netherlands. These have now been further developed and expanded into a stable, Europe-wide scalable platform with a focus on Germany. The result is not an entirely new solution, but a proven and mature platform that now appears under a united European umbrella. The TTNL Data Platform is managed by certified local specialists.

Security, Flexibility, and Compliance

Companies retain full control over who can access their data and under what conditions. This ensures that sensitive information remains protected from external influence, while compliance with European regulations such as NIS2 and GDPR is already built in.

The platform supports a variety of environments, including VMware, Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows, and IBM Power, and is optimized for modern workloads with Kubernetes via Red Hat OpenShift. It also integrates seamlessly with solutions such as Veeam Backup & Replication.

For its operations, the TTNL Group relies on European partners such as Equinix and North-C. The result is a scalable infrastructure that meets legal requirements while offering room for future growth.

“At a time when geopolitical and economic developments are increasingly shaping the IT landscape, Europe’s digital sovereignty is more important than ever,” says Engmann. “With the TTNL Data Platform, we are making a vital contribution and creating a future-proof infrastructure for companies of all sizes.”
